Steve Shaw — Fixed Operations Trainer for Auto Dealerships
Over 30 years on the service drive. Thousands of advisors, technicians, and managers trained. Over 1,000 rooftops running the Shaw approach right now. Dealers don’t hire Steve for a motivational afternoon. They hire him because the numbers move, and they stay moved.
Built a Career Around One Belief: Fixed Ops Is a Profit Engine, Not a Cost Center
Steve founded Shaw Dealer Training Group in 2012 and Shaw University to house the courses, workbooks, and certifications that thousands of advisors, technicians, and managers have trained on. He holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on human behavior, and he’s spent his entire career applying it to one place: the service lane. Dealers call him “the Fixed Operations Training JEDI” because he’s still the one they call when the drive isn’t producing — and he’s widely regarded as the top service advisor trainer in North America.
The Behavior Behind the Numbers
His method is simple to say and hard to master: it isn’t what you say — it’s what the customer hears, and how you make them feel. Train the behavior, and the numbers follow. That belief runs through every course, every workbook, and his three books — Master of the Waiting Room, The Art of Pass or Fail, and FOiS — The Behavior Behind the Numbers.
Speaker, Author, Podcast Host
Steve is a professional speaker and a pioneer in fixed operations training. He co-hosts the Fixed Ops Focus podcast, heard by more than 55,000 dealership fixed ops leaders.
